Wind Noise

Asked by GuruWNYLZ Feb 04, 2020 at 04:00 PM about the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox 2.0T Premier AWD

Question type: General

I bought a new Equinox in January and there is a very strong wind noise at
highway speed. I checked all windows and the sun roof. Everything is buttoned
up tight. Is this common and can it be fixed? Are there other sites I canr
esearch?

How about the door seals? Since you have a warranty make your problem the dealers problem.

I have the same wind noise. Hard to explain it ut at highway speeds particularly if it's a windy day too, I get what I call a "buffetting" sound from the tailgate area. I thought it might have been caused by the dealer-installed trailer hitch. I put my phone back there and recorded the sound. The dealer was interested and apparently took it for a test drive but miraculously wasn't able to re-create the sound. It's real! My back seat passengers have commented on it. So now what?

We just bought a 2021 Equinox and it has wind noise, road noise and the buffeting sound in the cargo area. It's stressful to drive due to all the cabin noise. Has anyone had any success with the dealer finding out the causes? We had sound deadening undercoating installed but that didn't help at all.

I have taken my 2021 Equinox to 3 dealers and they all tell me that the wind and road noise is normal for that vehicle .
