Asked by Jake Nov 29, 2014 at 12:27 PM about the 2002 Mercury Cougar V6 Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is overheating and idk what's
wrong. I can't find any coolant in the
oil, and I have replaced the
temperature coolant sensor, engine
temp sensor, water pump,
thermostat, and radiator. I don't
know what it could be.

I had a similar problem with it overheating. Thought it was the thermostat, but turns out the belt for the water pump had snapped. That belt is located under the plastic cover over the front of the engine, held in by 3 bolts
