What size battery goes into a 2003 mercury sable?

The auto parts guy/gal will tell you #36R-3 or #58R-3. The first one has a little higher power rating at 650 CCA. You can get either one at WalMart for $100 and there will be a $12 core deposit, refundable when you return the old one. Some places can test your battery or alternator before you buy. But not all WalMarts will have an automotive center that does that.

The nice man behind the parts counter will sell you the correct battery. You can also look at the battery to see what is written on the battery label.
