Have any ignition parts been replaced? A 15 year old car should be checked for plugs, wires, injectors, fuel filter, etc. If these type of parts have not been replaced yet, you are seeing the effect of running on worn out components. Do a complete tune up or take it to a reputable shop and have them do the work.
