what size motor is in 1998 ford ranger xlt

V6 3.0l or V6 4.0l. If I remember correctly, XLT is V6 automatically, the Inline-4 2.3l wasn't an option.

Can I put a 3-inch lift on my truck its a 98 Ford Ranger F150 and can it have a different size motor in it a V8
