why does my car cut out after it ran out of gas?

it ran find before fine then i parked on a slop then wouldnt start then put some gas in it and it started
but was cutting out  what should i do change my fuel filter?

You could have a plugged filter from getting so low on gas. More likely though is that the fuel pump is on it's way out. These fuel pumps are not designed to run dry. They need the fuel for cooling and to lubricate the pump. Some pumps will fail with just one time running out of gas. Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail on engine.
