CV Axle or wheel bearing. Is the noise constant with the rotation of a wheel, then its one of those two. Up and down or side to side as the suspension moves while driving down the road would be strut, control arms or bushings. End links could go up in the last sentence but those and tie rods generally dont whine or howl. Jack up one side under the frame and move tire with hands toward your face and away from you stomach as you kneel to do this. One hand at top and other at bottom of wheel. Notice any play while pushing. One hand on tire toward front bumper and other hand on tire toward rear bumper. Push right hand in as you pull left hand out then switch to left in right out. Notice any play. Face to stomach action is wheel bearing or something to with control arm components. Bumper action is tie rods. Grab sway bar links in middle of rod and pull/push, if theres play replace. Turn real hard left or right while driving, flipping a bitch, if you hear "clunk clunck" its the CV axle. Or go to someone with scanner to read what code the computer has stored but will need a actual shake down of front end to pinpoint. Hopefully someone else will answer with better info for you, Two heads are better than one.
