2001 Mazda Tribute V6 DX Revving Problem

When in drive and the the engine revs above 2000rpm, it goes out of control and takes about 1min to return to 900rpm. Any idea about how to solve this problem?

Ambient air temperature is measured and taken into acct. too---please have your diagnostic codes read for us---thank you. manny, moe or jack will do this for free~
