mazda protege fan not working

my 2002 mazda proteges fan will not turn on 1-4 how ever it would come on and then go
off the past couple of days not at all now.  could it be the resistor.

I have the same car & my heater blower only works on 4 high speed..I bought the OEM resistor & installed it...beautiful...it worked for 5 days & I'm now back high speed blower again...help!!!!
