4wd switch on dash lights up as 4wd hi when i switch it to 4wd low and the low range doesnt engage

4wd hi range works in both hi & lo switch settings on dash. No lo range engagement of transfer case.

Check the solenoid on the transfer case, it's probably shorted internally. I wish Ford would have never gone to switch 4X4.

Mine did the same. The dealership found that the left front speed indicator needed replacement.
