Steam escaping from antifreeze reservoir, small leak bottom of resevoir

Why is overheating , gauge reads half way

Replace the reservoir. Check the coolant level and top off as needed. You may also need a cooling system service (belt, hoses, flush and new coolant). Also make sure the cooling fans are working.

The engine probably isn't overheating. The gauge reads fine and I'm guessing you're not having any overheat driving issues. Steam coming out of the coolant reservoir might not be steam. It's probably coolant bubbling from pressure entering the cooling system through a blown head gasket. Get a compression test on the engine.
