Forester making whirring sound when decelerating or driving very slow

Hi, there! I'm pretty new to CVT transmissions and this is my first Subaru. I've
noticed that it makes a whirring/slight whistling sound when decelerating to
come to a stop or driving very slow (like turning around in a cul-de-sac or
coming down the driveway). Is this part of the CVT system and is it normal or
should I be concerned and take it into the shop?

As long as the transmission is acting like it should I don't think you have a problem. If you are concerned don't be shy about talking to your dealer about it. At least you have a 100,000 mile warranty on it.
