Condenser price on 2018 Encore

Asked by Guru9RDB28 Jul 18, 2022 at 11:18 AM about the 2018 Buick Encore Preferred AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My air conditioner is blowing hot. I took my 2018 Buick Encore to the Buick
shop and was quoted $900.00. Is this correct?  My power train is still under
warranty.

Powertrain warranty is just that, powertrain only, it doesn’t cover accessories like AC, power steering, charging systems, etc. As it was a dealership the price is about normal, you could get a better price using an independent shop.

The air conditioning system is not part of the powertrain warranty. The price quoted by the Dealer sounds about right. You can get a second opinion from an independent shop but it probably won't be fixed correctly. You get what you pay for! Hope that helps! Jim

The last two times I went to the dealership to get my rig fixed it took a week each time and when I got it back not fixed but really messed up, so fed up with poor service I found a highly rated independent shop near me and they had it fixed in one day and the problem hasn’t returned.
