2001 lincoln continental Instrument panel cluster display, Information and settings menus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 lincoln continental Instrument panel cluster display:  Information and settings menus is malfunctioning. It either works correctly (for a while) does not come on, or is continuously flashing. Is this a separate part gone bad, a comp or what and where ?

My speedometer flashes and flickers, my check engine light stays on, it was on when I bought it 4 years ago. My 2004 Lincoln town car operates just fine. My answer is to drive the sucker, enjoy your comfort, and great gas mileage until it drops. I'm past 200,000 miles with expectation for many more check engine light and all.

It has now died on me, I replaced the alternator, and a new battery it last for a few hours than dies. I jump start it let charge, will not get over 11.5 volts, than it will run for a few minutes and die, check again its 7 -8 volts. All fuses are good, could it be a relay ? 3 of them in the box under the hood, or is it the damned computer.
