Rear brake cable is sagging a lot, parking brake inop.

Asked by Jan 29, 2017 at 04:03 PM about the 2001 Lincoln Continental FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The parking brake is not holding any more, but the pads and the rotors are fine. The rear brake cable going along the under-body on the driver side is sagging several inches. What would be the cause and how do I fix it? Thank you.

Mine did the same thing. Plastic attachment broke. I fastened mine up with a cable wrap !
