Mixed gas in tank, what can I do?

Asked by Tawnya Jan 24, 2021 at 05:15 PM about the 2018 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 Double Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2018 Tacoma. It had about 2 gallons. I
added about a gallon of mixed gas by accident.
Now it won't accelerate and skips. I can't get more
than 2500 rpm while sitting and pressing the gas. I
added carb and fuel injector cleaner and then filled
up the tank. Hoping that would work. 20 minutes
later and I could barely drive across the street to
park it. Now I'm sitting letting it run and still the
same. Did I completely mess up my truck?

I think she means she put some oil mix gas like you would use in your weed eater or chainsaw. Since you dilluted it so heavy it shouldn't be an issue now but if you ran it while it was still 2 gal unmixed to 1 gal mixed then it is very likely it gummed up a spark plug. You will want to check all your spark plugs and make sure they are good. That is also what would be causing such skipping. Hope this helps.
