what could a check suspension message on my 2005 lincoln navigator mean

Navs have a bit of a reputation with this one. The navigator uses an air suspension system. High tech and all that, but it comes with loads of problems. I'd take it to a dealer. But if I had to throw a shot in the dark, bad air compressor.
