What is the problem if it is cutting out while driving?

That could be a number of things. Might need new spark plugs, oil change, transmission work. Also depends on when it tends to cut out. For example, if it cuts out when you are accelerating harder than normal, that is probably the spark plugs. If it cuts out when it gets real hot, it's overheating. If you have a code reader, i recommend using it, try to pull a code off of it. If nothing comes up, take it in to your local auto repair shop.

It cuts out when idling won’t start until I have got out and locked and unlocked the drivers door

Hi my 2010 Kia Rio Hatch's engine cuts out occasionally when idling or dropping below 1000rpm and wont start for 10 mins and wont start sometimes after parking for a short time. Kia dealer could not find the issue and sent me on my way charging $144 for no resolution or advise on how to fix my problem. Help
