4 wheel drive

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I shift into 4 high or 4 low the 4 wheel inicater comes on but the front wheels are not engaged. I went to the auto parts store to buy a manual and was told that there is not one available at thi time.

The vacuum lines for the front hubs have dry rotted and separated most likely. Just install new ones and you should be good to go.

vaccum hoses right behind the wheels in the front are more than likely broke. I had a 2001 sportage and those hoses broke several times.

I am a first time suv and 4 wheel drive owner. My owners manual is no help. What is the maxim speed to engage 4 wheel drive from 2 wheel drive?
