Has anyone encountered a problem like this?

Asked by Leonardo Aug 30, 2020 at 04:13 PM about the 2018 Ford F-150 XLT LB RWD

Question type: General

I was in a fender bender a few weeks ago. I got my truck
back from the shop about 5 days ago. Everything was fine
until today when I got home from running errands. I parked
the truck, shut off the engine, but when I opened the door I
noticed the radio didn't turn off. I closed the door, turned
the engine on but none of the gages turned on. The only
light I saw was showing I was parked and the screen for the
radio. Not a single button was responsive. The the gear
shift handle moved, but it didn't shift gears, it stayed in the
parked position. I disconnected the negative terminal on
the battery and called my guy from the shop to see if they
had to mess with the wiring at all. Just as I thought they
didn't touch the wiring much and he had never heard of
anything like that happening before. After 30 minutes I
connected the battery again and the truck was back to
normal. Has anyone encountered a situation like this
before?

Sounds like you rebooted the computer (s). I had my speedometer malfunction in a 2015 F150 three years ago. The problem went away after a reboot.
