i bought my 2008 Shelby Cobra new and now has 23,000 miles on it and is garage kept! Do I need to replace tires just because of age of car? Have been told when having oil changed that I should!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This car is my baby that I don't drive very much and keep garaged! The shop
that I do oil changes with is also a "tire business" so just not sure! They have
plenty of tread but they told me tires age and dry out even if not driven!  Not
sure! What is your opinion ?

If they are cracking and looks dry rotted then they should be replaced but if u only drive the car once in a while and not very far distances then you should be good for another few years.

I agree with the limited use. But FYI: the tire safety consensus is to replace your tires every 6 years.

Inspect the tires. I have gotten ten years out of tires that were always garaged and they still looked new. Tom has the correct idea though.
