its leaking pretty good from back towards the gas tank area

Assuming the front part of the line is in good shape, you only need do the 3 feet or so between the tank and the fuel filter. If you are handy, you can do that yourself, in a couple of hours, for about $20. You can buy the required length of line, with the correct ends on it, and bend it to fit quite easily. To have it done, you are probably looking at about $100 or so.
