my 99 jeep cherokee developed a knock in top end of motor. Any ideas? worse when idles for awhile and running temp

In the past two days my 99 cherokee developed a top end knock, it seems to
get worse when the jeep warms up. Oil level is good, however does need
changed.

I would pull the valve cover and inspect.
