Yukon not cranking over

Asked by Vinny1123 Oct 29, 2018 at 09:37 PM about the 2008 GMC Yukon Denali

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Yukon Denali is not turning over. If i turn my key to the
on position all dash gauges work except for the fuel gauge.
Then I hear a clicking from around the steering console
area. N my gas gauge goes up n down with each click. It's
weird my back lift gate doesn't work until the fuel gauge
indicator is working. N doesn't when I hear the click gauge
goes down, tailgate lift doesn't work n Yukon won't turn
over..... Any ideas of what might be causing these
problems?

Thanks for your answer, very much appreciated. I ended putting a new solanoid on my starter. Thought that was my problem. I put a tester on my battery earlier and read it was very good. The Denali still didn't start after new solenoid. I ended up going through the vehicle and looking at all the grounds to see if they were corroded. I ended up finding the electrical airbag suspension module above my spare tire had busted loose. And looks like it's shorted out in spots and melted the plastic. I plan on going to the wrecking yard tomorrow and hoping to buy one. Not too sure if this module runs more than just my air suspension. But figure it's worth a try.
