My 2007 GMC Yukon Denali rear tail gate will not open

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So, what is going on is my rear tail gate will not open.  I can open it with the
key FOB and the button on the celling on the car and close it those ways.
However, when I touch the handle to open it, then it does not open. When I
switch the celling button to manual, I can not open it either.  Also when it is
open and I press the button on the bottom of the tail gate, next to the handle
to close it, then it will not close.  When I press the tail gate handle and the
button next to the handle, nothing happens.  Any ideas on what it could be?

I did not change anything but I will check thank you for the answer. However, my car was just at the shop and the battery died and they had to jump it. Could that have changed the setting?

My car does not have anything is the message center for the tail gate, just the four doors.
