Any one have a 2004 Liberty with over 100 K miles?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am contemplating buying a used 04 Liberty from a private seller.  It seems to be in good shape, but it has over 100 K miles and so I'm wondering if anyone is driving one with this many miles and can tell me how it holds up.  Like I said, other than the miles the car appears to be in great condition, and the seller is willing to accept less that the value due to the high milage.

Well I have an 04 Liberty with 62k. Not yet 100k yet but so far I haven't had any major replacements besides a new set of tires and regular oil changes and airfilter. Probably also has to do with how well the previous owner has treated it. lots of offroading or just careless maintenece.

I have a 2004 Liberty and just hit 106K over the weekend. Runs great and the only things I've done to it are to add a K&N air filter to increase HP and MPG, nitrofill for the tires, and I make sure to keep it maintained and clean. You'd think it was new. It all depends on how meticulously it's been kept up. It can be a great vehicle. See if he'll let you take it for a drive so that you can get a feel for it. My only regrets in buying are that mine is a Limited w/o anti lock brakes or traction control (I'm here in the Florida rain and I have a toddler to tote around). Plus, I would have preferred 4WD. Other than that, it's a really great vehicle and I'm sure it will go for another 100K easily.

My Liberty is an '03, and I'm just about to break 120K on it. I don't' think much changed between '03 and '04. I have only had 2 occasions where my Jeep needed to be serviced, aside from routine maintenance. The Crankshaft position sensor went at 56K (covered by extended warranty), and the second was a much more major repair. The transmission needed to be rebuilt at 115K. Admittedly, I had NEVER serviced the transmission, and I drive my vehicles VERY hard, so I would have to assume that this isn't the norm for these spectacular vehicles! Now that I have a "new" transmission, I'm looking forward to putting another 120K on this one before it's retired!
