I have a 2004 Liberty and I can tell you it was a very good year for them. Jeeps have good years and bad but Consumer reports rated that as a dependable year. Mine is stilll going strong.Get.yourself.a code reader as they do have engine lights come on but often it is just a blip, such.as a misread on an O2 sensor or commonly the evap system has a momentary glitch. Very often you can clear it and it doesnt repeat.

My 04 liberty had over 250,000 loved it till I let it run hot just DON’T DO and you will be good

I have an 06, 175,000 miles I am hoping that I can get it to go 300,000. I Luv my liberty wouldn't trade it for the world. Only problem I have is six cylinder misfire, but I believe its gapping issue with the spark plugs, when the car gets too hot the Gap open. I would recommend this car to anybody who wants one, I would stay away from high-mileage ones because they may have over heated multiple times.
