2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Van fan/blower not working... suggestions to diagnose which part?

Asked by Alpinist1 Dec 26, 2017 at 02:53 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM Van 1500 Cargo RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My heater fan/blower suddenly stopped working (although if I drive around
with the fan in the on position it very occasionally kicks on for a brief instant)

Is there any way to determine whether it is the Relay, Fan Switch, Resister
Regulator, Ignition Switch or Blower Motor prior to buying/installing each?

Thanks for any input...

you'll need a multi tester to see if power is getting to the motor when the switch is on , everything needs a ground too , if not there's a resistor pack that dictates the blower speed , you may be able to "hot wire " this for one speed , , then check the selector panel , even cleaning those contacts might do the trick ,
