Should I buy my leased car

Asked by GuruGJQTW Sep 03, 2020 at 10:48 AM about the 2017 Ford Edge SE

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am leasing a 2017 Ford Edge. About a month ago, I took the car into the
dealership because the "service engine soon" light was on. Turned out, the car
needed a new engine. I am coming up to the end of my lease. I was going to
buy the car but now I don't know. Is it a better deal because it has an new
engine? Or could it be a lemon with more problems down the road?

Why did the engine fail? Regardless of that you will have a new engine so I would not be overly concerned. I would compare the residual value to the actual retail value to see if you are getting a good deal or not. You may want to look into a Ford factory extended warranty.
