What color is the smoke? White smoke is common as condensation settles in the muffler and evaporates out once running.

more than likely the or some of the valve seals have dryed out and cracked letting a little oil seap into a cylender or two.not to worrie, you not cranking on a dry motor.

I agree with Papa on this. Soundslike your Valve seals are starting to fail and will need to be rebuild. The other option is that your starting to get blow by on your rings and sucking oil from the crank into the chamber. Either way its an engine tear town time.

not really a tear down, just replace the valve seals,it will stop.all that it is doing is letting a little oil drain into a cylender 2 and burning the oil out of the cylender, like said is not a bad thing by not starting
