im told i need a new motor for my 99 expedition will the motor be for a 99 or will it be a motor for a new expedition ?

I'm buying a new motor but I'm wondering if the change will make my miles per
tank will lower because I  was getting better gas milage with my 1999 the others
with newer ones

If your friends are getting worse mileage than you it's because they don't drive like you do. I don't mean to be a jerk BUT - if you're concerned about fuel mileage, why drive a full-sized 4x4 SUV? My '87 F-250 4x4 gets 9 mpg. It's just a fact of life for a Truck. Now my little Mazda el-cheapo car gets 30 city!

It will be a new motor and I was getting around 13 miles per gallon a friend with an 08 only gets around 8 miles per gallon which is about a thirty dollar difference I'm OK with the gas price it is my husband who keeps trying to come up with exuces not to fix it and a mechanic told him it would run about the same once the motor had time to break in but he didn't think that is right he says it would be anew motor so it would get gas milage like the newer expeditions
