Why did the key stop working in the door of my 99 expedition?

1. try spraying the lock part with some lubricant ( preferred a penetrating spray) now if the key does not work on your truck to either unlock or to start your car.. it is probably that the chip inside your key has a flaw, easy fix, get a new key from your FORD dealer ship. just from experience try my 1st suggestion.
