What type of diesel would be the best to use in it?

All diesels I know of use #2. I am sure you need the ultra low sulfur type. Page 40 of the diesel supplement spells it out. https://www.mopar.com/moparsvc/tweddle/publications? id=2035

I hear good things about bio-diesel which you may want to look into. Dodge recommends no more than 5% bio diesel with a max of 20%. Page 45
