Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2017 Dodge Journey SXT won't crank. It's
been sluggish to start for a week and now
won't crank. Everything turns on as normal,
tried to get a jump, and went through the
motions of putting it in neutral to start as
previously mentioned, but hear nothing but a
single "click.

Bad starter most likely, I would also check your oil. If it's super low, you may have seized the engine by running it.

Walker8380, thank you for your feedback! The oil level is good, I checked all fluid levels right away. I not only change it before regular scheduled maintenance, but have made a habit of checking oil, and other fluid levels when washing it every- every other weekend on every car I've owned due to growing up with a father who was a mechanic and drilled it into me at a young age. Lol!! I do believe it's the starter too. I had 2 people hook cables to it, but didn't ever start. It just gives a single "click" instead of cranking. The week leading up to this, it was taking longer and longer to turn over. I've not seen many complaints from 2017's yet, but suspect most are still under manufacturers warranty. I'll respond with the issue/repair after I get it to the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully it will help others that may have the same issues. :)
