CAN I RESPRAY CLEAR COAT EXPOSED BASE COAT

Asked by Vicki Jul 22, 2020 at 11:19 AM about the 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty King Ranch Crew Cab DRW 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The paint on my truck s generally solid and responds well to cleaning and
waxing.  But areas of the clear coat have been worn away (ext mirrors, edges
of design lines, etc), exposing the base coat (medium=dark blue).  Can I
clear/compound the base coat and apply a fresh clear coat?

Have a paint shop evaluate your truck and give recommendations.
