Revving engine to 5000 rpms on Subaru

Asked by Donna Jun 17, 2019 at 02:42 AM about the 2017 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2017 Subaruch Outback with 20,000 mi. seems to rev to
5000rpms without changing gear? Strange and loud, just
bought it. Taking to dealer next week, afraid I will ruin
transmission , any ideas??  I have warranty.

No! Don't have a local transmission shop touch your expensive CVT! I doubt transmission shops can handle the Subaru CVT. You need to take it to a Subaru dealer. Your car is probably under warranty and Subaru extended the CVT warranty out to 100,000 miles.
