Question type: General

I know cvt is as basic as can be, even has manual driver's seat adjustment.
But, does that mean the seats are basically hard with no cushioning to speak
of (sit on)? I am the one who bought the "sight unseen" '17 Forester from a
"reputable dealer". Yes, I got stung on two things (so far), the type of trim
taking care of both of those lies. It is a 2.5i cvt, which I now know means no
frills. Has anyone had more cushioning put in the seats and maybe made
them an inch wider??? The upholstery is leather (go figure) and I don't want to
replace it.

Is there an upholstery shop where you live? That would be the place to check.

All the seats are going to be the same width. Apparently you have a top of the line model, not a base car which did not come with leather.

To: F_O_R Yes, it really is a basic model with exception of cvt. For some reason, the dealer had the seats reupholstered in leather. They had been cloth as benefits the base car "trim". You have given me a grim thought; what if there was some type of very bloody accident? That would have been reason to take out the cloth quickly. However, there were no accident reports on Carfax.
