My 2017 Nissan Rogue suddenly would not accelerate.

Driving in the neighborhood about 40 ish and suddenly the car slowed down
and the dash said Malfunction. I could keep moving at 5mph with the pedal
floored. That's it. Had it towed. Don't know what the diagnostics said till
tomorrow.

If I were to guess I would say your transmission has packed it in. Never buy a Nissan with a CVT!
My 2017 Rogue has acceleration problems when the CVT is overheated. Shut car off for few minutes an it's ok. Also get the RPM issues too. Nissan is aware of this an has reimbursed those in a lawsuit that ended this year but I didn't know about it. They paid up but sisnt admit their CVT is junk. I read they put the CVT at a low temp to make car last longer but what are they going to do when I get hit cause the car didnt accelerate. Gonna try an trade in asap. Nissan is ridiculous.
