2017 gmc terrain calls for 5w30 but I want to run 10w30

i have a 2017 gmc terrain and I can hear the valves about 500miles after an oil
change and it bugs me! i have brought it to the dealership and get the same
response that they dont hear anything. I run pure synthetic since i bought the
truck new. I hope that running 10w30 would make the noise less noticable.

Next time you change your oil add some Lucas Engine Oil Stabilizer to oil had a tapping in my vehicle and that took care of it.

Just to add, found this service bulletin. See if it pertains to your problem? Is your vehicle still under warranty? If so, try a different dealership, if you haven't already. bbbind.com should have free service bulletins to look at.

This is my second terrain the first was a 4cyl and this one is a 6cyl both did it, the warmer the engine is the more you can hear it. When I change the oil you don’t hear it for a week. Since I have he’s both checked I just chocked it up as since the engine is so close and less noise insulation your hear more.
