No, you should only add when it is cold anyway, nothing is worse than a burn caused by hot coolant.

Normally you add coolant to the reservoir but read your owners manual if you don't understand how to do it. BTW! Your new car should not need coolant! Take it to the dealer if you are losing coolant.
