P051B code

Asked by Peter Dec 22, 2018 at 05:26 PM about the 2017 Ford Escape SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have 2017 Escape, the check engine light came on 3x. Had code read
P051B. They accidentally cleared code. How do I recover code for dealership.
They won't touch car unless check engine light is on.

You cannot retrieve the the code until it pops up again. Have to wait for the check engine light to come on again.

I had the same DTC. It happened after I got gas in my vehicle one week ago yesterday. I took my 2017 Escape to the dealer service area. They were able to retrieve the code in PCM. It was Crank Case Pressure Sensor. Funny thing, on the way to the dealer, the engine light went off. They checked the voltage and said it was normal. They reset the PCM. I got gas in my vehicle again yesterday, today the engine light was back on.
