No power

While jump starting my 96 Fourrunner with a bad starter my 98 Chevy 3/4 ton  
V8  automatic went completely dead. No radio, lights, ignition. Volt meter
shows 12.6V.

Check the main fuse 30 amp probably blew when you jumped off the other car.

Iras desperate so as a last resort I disconnected the battery ground. When reinstalling ground to battery there was a spark and under hood light came on. Some how that process reset something and I'am up and running.
