almost dies when put in drive

i have a 2000 ford ranger 3.0 flex, it was running fine when i parked it the other
night, when i went to drive it the next day it didnt want to start right up like
normal, but it did start and ran rough for a bit then smoothed out at idle but
would shudder if i give it gas, when i put it in drive it almost dies, running very
rough and when i try to give it gas it doesnt seem to do anything
