Question type: Maintenance & Repair

CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! 2006 Infinity M35. This all started
while driving on HWY doing 70. The RPMs dropped the SLIP & VDC & CK
ENG came on and it kicked back in immediately but never died everytime this
happened. AFTER that would happen I noticed the RPMs jumping and it
would die if I came to a stop MOST of the time. BUT it would start right back
up. Overtime it wouldn’t start right back up. I’d have to wait 10mins or
something like that. SO I buy a cheap aftermarket CAMSHAFT CENSOR and
we put that on ourselves. The car starts up n I drive it down road about 2miles
and it dies. And will not start back up at all. So I leave my car for hours and it
starts I get about mile down road and it dies again. I basically do that until I
make it home. I send it to a shop and they replaced CRANKSHAFT censor I
THINK and so $600 later and replaced censor. I noticed the day I picked it up
that it had a slight hesitation on start up. Got gas. And it started up but with a
little longer hesitation maybe a sec or two of a difference. I knew something
was off. Went home days later I go to get gas. It won’t start. I let it sit maybe
10mins. And it starts. I take it to the shop that “fixed” it. And they also did a
diagnostic on it that first time. Anyway I take it to them. And this time they say
it’s the Throttle censor. $400 just for the part and we had someone for free put
it on. SO I pick up my car and drive a block or two to get gas and it won’t
start!!!! PLEASE HELP ME SOMEBODY! What the heck is wrong with it?? It
cranks over fine and starts after mins after sitting.

I’m not sure which censor they put on. The very first time I took it to the shop.
But on the paperwork it says CRANKSHAFT CENSOR REPLACED. And they
said they got it from INFINITY.

You have to Banks of cam shaft position sensors. One on the passenger side and one on the drivers. If one goes out then the other is not far behind.

I tried telling them from the start that they may need to change out the other side. Instead the mechanic said it’s the catalytic converter. I tried telling my husband and the mechanic NO but they did that anyway and my car still takes a long time to start or won’t start before 20-30mins. I have to let it sit at least 20mins before I can start it. And it smells when I start it. My father said the smell is the catalytic converter. And there’s a loud ticking noise when the car is in drive. I’ve called this stupid mechanic many times and he just keeps saying he’s coming to get it. But never does. I will not pay for something(catalytic) if my car is still jacked up! We’ve already paid $1,000s and it’s still messed up.
