Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to give one of my work trucks a tune up. I'm
old school,  so i know plugs, fluids, but what's up
with the plug wires, I'm finding out there are coils
now.

Yep each cylinder has its own coil, when you do the tune up make sure the boots are in good condition or you will have a misfire as those could will fire across the path of least resistance and if there is a fracture in one of the boots it will fire right through it, don't forget the anti seize compound on the plugs and dielectric grease on the boot ends. Then it's just filters, PCV valve, check and clean the throttle body if necessary, no timing checks, nothing else to adjust, it's all computer controlled.

You don't have a diesel? Most 350's are not gas engines. What engine do you have? You don't really need new coils for a Triton engine if you don't have a miss and the check engine light is not on.
