Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2000 focus with zetec engine dohc. I am replacing heater core but
forgot to note the hose connections. One hose connects from the heater
core to the coolant pipe mounted on of the radiator. The second hose goes
from heater core to thermostat housing.

Which hose is supposed to get connected to the bottom tube of the core and
which one is supposed to go on the top tube. Attached picture shows how
the core sits when installed.

heaters cores are not directional, so determine which hose looks to fit better on what connection. Basically it doesn't matter.

I would probably direct the hot water to the bottom inlet and the return hose would be at the top.
