Yes, get the box if you don't have one, You may still need that air intake hose in the picture also if you don't have that either.

Most likely the Air box is a different part number and sold seperate

Ok so i just got back from the dealership and they told me that it was the right part for my car/engine type. i even saw the engine diagram and saw the part i needed. but then he told me that the part i need is for a manual transmission car but my car is automatic . i gave him my vin number and everything and still told me i had the right part and so on. MStamps1 the box comes with the tube with is the only way they would sell it. The parts guy told me he will call another dealership that has the part to send pictures of the part to make sure its the right one.

Take the car to the dealer and have the parts guy go outside and look at your engine. That way he will order the correct parts.

i didnt think about that but at the same time that place was about to close down so i might just do it tomorrow

FUll of Regrets has a good point - take them the car and drag the parts guy out to the lot to see it for himself. A part like that should have come in a cardboard box and if the plastic box is included it would be in the same box. If the plastic box has a separate part number you have two different parts. Any chance this motor was swapped for a wrecking yard motor at some point in its life?

The tube you are showing you have looks like the part for a 2.0L Zetec like the one below

as far as i know the motor was not swapped. and yes the the part is exactly same as in the picture. i installed the part they gave me but sounds a bit off dont know if its a good thing or bad but yeah. but like you guys said get the same part. here is the part without the box that i need replacing.

Yeah - makes sense now - the tube they sold you is not at all the right part - this box is a baffle. Definitely drive the car over there tomorrow and show them, they can pull the part numbers right off the existing part.

By chance do you live in California? I wonder if this is a California Emissions component

Ok so i go a call this afternoon from the dealership and told me that they dont making that part anymore and the one i have should be just fine so i guess its the only option i have. unless i go to the junk yard with i did for three days straight and i just found the part i have right now. But thanks everyone for helping me.
