Is a 2000 Ford Focus LX reliant on back pressure?

Asked by Anthony Jun 21, 2023 at 10:46 AM about the 2000 Ford Focus LX

Question type: Car Customization

I’ve been thinking about getting my Catalytic
Converter, as I live in Florida there are no
emissions, but I don’t know if it will mess up the
car if I do. Is there anyone who knows who
could help me out.

If it ain't broke don't fix it . People like you account for like .0001 of the pollutants

It is designed to run with some back pressure for the sensors to work properly. Removing the catalyst will turn on the check engine light as the sensors will see an inactive catalyst. You may also see a drop in MPG.

The trouble you'll cause will cost more to fix than the car's worth. Why do people have machinations over things they know nothing about and then are surprised by all the crap they've caused? God help us all!
