I have a 2000 Ford Exployer XLT with a new engine with 7,000 miles and a rebuilt transmission. Replaced radiator a month ago. I live in Denver. When it's above 95 degrees it seems to vapor lock and when I push on the gas it does not respond. When that happens I can restart it but can't can't go. Once I let it sit for about 1/2 hour it is fine. Help! I can't depend on it.

A similar failure is caused by a failing fuel pump. The electric pump works fine cold but if you shut it off after a drive, it hardly delivers enough fuel to run. Let it sit and cool off and it runs. Modern fuel systems can't vapor lock because the high fuel pressure raises the boiling point of the fuel. A fuel pump that's on the fritz is another story. Scan the system for codes. Look at the Baro readings like fordtech57 suggested, also look at the MAF. Start with codes, check fuel pressure and let us know how it goes!

will do the above and let you know. Thanks for your help; I'm frustrated and got to get to the bottom of this issue! Tired of it stalling!
