I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata with a ticking noise under the forward passenger side valve cover

My Sonata idles rough with the a/c on and the car in drive. I changed the Idle control valve, cleaned the throttle body, and cleaned the mass air flow. Still have a rough idle. I started the engine while cold and listen with a long screw drive. After a short while and the engine warming up it sound like the valve on the front passenger side started ticking. If so what can I do to get it to stop without doing a major overhaul. And can a sticking valve cause the engine to act like this with the a/c?

As far as the ticking is concerned change oil and add some Lucas Engine Oil Stablizer to oil. Do not think it has anything to do with a/c but try adding the Lucas first and see what happens it may help stop the running rough with a/c on.

There is a recall on the timing tensioner. This is what I found during research. Most common cause for engine noise during start up. Mine was the bearings in my alternator and then shortly after that it was the timing tensioner.
